Postal Guidelines

Postal rates are determined by the number of mail pieces, size and area of mailing. Preparing mail according to Postal Service Guidelines allows your mail to be delivered as quickly and affordably as possible.

Classes of Mail

First Class Postcard
Standard 4x6 postcards offer a lower rate than regular mail. It is usually delivered between 3-5 days nationally. Postcards can be no larger than 4-1/4x6 in size.

Presorted First Class Mail
5” x 7”, 5” x 8”, 6” x 9” and 6” x 11” postcards as well as 8.5” x 11”, 8.5” x 14”, and 11” x 17” brochures can be sent using First Class Mail. This service is the fastest offered within discount mail and pricing depends on the exact piece you want to mail. If you need your piece delivered by a certain date, choose Presorted First Class; if your piece can be delivered anytime within 1-3 weeks, choose the Presorted Standard rate.

Presort Standard Mail (Bulk Mail)
Presort Standard Mail can take 5-21 days to reach customers in the United States. A minimum of 500 postcards must be mailed; and a minimum of 250 brochures must be mailed.

CASS Certification
Coding Accuracy Support System (CASS) adds Zip+4 codes to your mailing list wherever possible. We also add postal barcodes to your mail pieces and remove duplicates or non-deliverable addresses.

Addressing
The only text allowed in the address space is the mailing stamp or indicia and the recipient’s address. USPS automation does not read graphics, screens or other designs.
